Scenes from the Guest Lecture Program How can you increase awareness of equipment finance and attract new talent to the industry? Present ELFA’s Guest Lecture Program at a college, university or finance group near you. M EMBERS ARE HIT TING THE ROAD and presenting the Guest Lecture Program, a 30-minute PowerPoint presentation about the equipment finance industry, at colleges and universities nationwide. Here are a few recent examples: ELFA Chairman Bob Rinaldi, CEO of Commercial Industrial Finance, presented the Guest Lecture Program to 65 students at the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business in Charlottesville, Va., in March. “The response was outstanding,” said Rinaldi. “We are generating great momentum in our college and business school outreach via the Guest Lecture Program.” Alan Sikora, President of First Ameri-can Equipment Finance, a City National Bank Company, delivered the Guest Lec-Sikora at the University of Rochester ture Program in February to the Finance and Economics Council at the University of Rochester in Rochester, N.Y. There were approximately 15 undergrads in attendance. In April, Sikora delivered the presentation to a group of graduating business majors at Ithaca College. In April, Lou Vigliotti, Senior Managing Director for GE Capital Markets Group, ad-dressed Honors and MBA students at Mor-gan State University in Baltimore. “Most were undergrad business students and there were a couple of MBA candidates,” Vigliotti report-ed. “It was well received and, as expected, not many knew there was a leasing profession. They had some good questions.
